The ARGUS 145 plus Triple Play + xDSL Combi Tester integrates comprehensive SHDSL functions, which meet the latest technical requirements

At CeBIT 2011, intec will present an SHDSL measuring instrument that meets the highest technical demands: the ARGUS 145 plus. This handheld tester not only tests SHDSL (2-, 4-, 6- and 8-wire), but also VDSL2 (all profiles), ADSL (Annex A, B, M), Ethernet, POTS and ISDN BRI S/T/U, PRI and E1 – without having to swap modules.

The ARGUS 145 plus has an impressive selection of SHDSL features. It can synchronize up to four copper pairs at the same time. Another special feature of this tester is that it offers – as for ADSL and VDSL2 – a modem simulation (STU-R) and additionally a DSLAM simulation (STU-C). It also supports the SHDSL.bis (Enhanced SHDSL) standard, which supports even higher symmetrical data rates. SHDSL solutions, which are based on the ATM, EFM and TDM methods, can also be tested. During connection establishment, line probing is performed (PMMS - Power Measurement Modulation Session), which is a standardized process. This means that various line parameters can be determined even before the actual synchronization process with the peer started.

Furthermore, with its optional Triple Play test functions, the ARGUS 145 plus can be used to verify VoIP, IPTV and data services via xDSL and Ethernet. The scope of functions also includes copper tests, which enable a spectrum analysis for physical line qualification and a TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) function for measuring line lengths and identifying sources of interference.
