Lüdenscheid, May 2026 – Under the motto “Test. Document. Done.”, intec will demonstrate at ANGA COM 2026 how fiber-optic accesses in FTTH services can be tested more quickly, faults pinpointed, and results documented directly on-site.

The focus is on the new Optical Fault Locator (based on OTDR technology), which enables the analysis of fiber-optic lines during live operation. Fault locations such as splices, connectors, or reflections are detected early on—before installation errors lead to subsequent malfunctions and costly return trips.

Structured acceptance testing for FTTH service deployment

The ARGUS® F Series makes it easy to perform acceptance tests on fiber optic accesses in FTTH networks with consistent results—even under time pressure during field service. A structured acceptance test forms the basis for quality assurance and includes optical level measurements, analysis of the fiber path, and evaluation of access performance. Technicians receive clear results instead of complex single measurements and can decide on-site whether an access has been installed correctly.

Both the ARGUS® F200 and the ARGUS® F240 enable selective measurements in GPON and XGS-PON networks and can be expanded to include an optical fault locator. This device is used to systematically evaluate fiber-optic lines during live operation, clearly pinpoint fault locations, and reliably determine the physical quality of the line.

Ready to use in just 16 seconds and equipped with one-touch measurement, these devices allow for quick and intuitive measurement in the field.

The ARGUS® F240 also enables access and service quality to be checked on site. Tested under real-world conditions, technicians can verify the promised bandwidth and service quality as early as during commissioning.

For more in-depth analyses in the event of a fault or on more complex routes, the ARGUS® F300 complements the F-Series with an integrated OTDR. This allows faults to be pinpointed with even greater precision—without having to switch devices in the field.

The result: reduced troubleshooting during operation, fewer return trips, and shorter commissioning times. intec will demonstrate how this approach can be implemented in everyday FTTH operations at ANGA COM 2026.
