For the ARGUS triple play combi testers ARGUS 142, ARGUS 145 plus, ARGUS 165, ARGUS 155 and ARGUS 152 but also for the ARGUS 141 xDSL tester, a new firmware is available: The new firmware (version 1.04, respectively 2.23) again offers many new functions and improvements for the above mentioned types of ARGUS testers.

After updating the new firmware offers the new and more powerful IPv6 protocol for the use in router mode. Thus it is possible to connect the ARGUS directly to the DSL connection and let it replace the router as well as the modem so that the whole network is connected to IPv6.

Additionally, the new firmware allows you to save an ARGUS test result at any time, without stopping the measurement. This is a major advantage, especially for real-time tests like the Line Scope or an inspection with the TDR.

The new product generation (ARGUS 165, ARGUS 155 and ARGUS 1525) now also supports Ethernet cable tests. These include for example an Ethernet TDR to determine the line length and to locate sources of interference, for example shorts or interruptions. Furthermore the tool “Ethernet port flash” makes searching for the used port on the Ethernet switch easier and more comfortable. This function is available for all ARGUS combi testers.

New functions for the DSL section have been added. One of them is the possibility to configure a limit for the error counters (CRC, FEC, etc.) which are often predefined by the network operators. If the connection parameters are within the limits, ARGUS shows a green “OK”, otherwise ARGUS will show a red “Fail”. Therefore it is possible to check at a glance if DSL meets the requirements.

Beside all this new features, there is a multiplicity of many other time and cost saving improvements and optimizations.
