Lüdenscheid, March 2023 - intec, measurement technology specialist from Lüdenscheid, will again be present at Fiberdays in Wiesbaden, Germany's leading trade fair for future-proof fiber optics. At an even larger booth this time, the latest fiber test solutions and measurement equipment will be presented, including the new ARGUS® 240 Optical xPON Tester, the first pure fiber tester from intec.

The ARGUS® 240 tests reliably at GPON and XGS-PON interfaces in the quality you have come to expect. An additional integrated broadband power meter enables the measurement of other wavelengths, such as 1550 nm. With the selective xPON-OPM (3xOPM), the levels of GPON and XGS-PON can be measured simultaneously. In addition, the PON ID can be read out and a complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests can be performed. Through mode + up/downstream level measurement and alien detection are possible with the 5xOPM. In addition, the ARGUS® 240 has many other test functions, such as WLAN, triple play tests as VoIP, IPTV and data tests in the form of up/downloads, iperf or speed tests up to 2.5 Gbit/s.

Trade show visitors can also get to know the ARGUS® 300 Universal Broadband Tester, which has already won two awards. The high-quality fiber multifunction instrument tests on all broadband interfaces, from GPON, XGS-PON, FTTx (PtP) and G.fast (106 + 212 MHz), 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, copper, ADSL, VDSL and SHDSL to super vectoring and bonding. Many other test functions such as WLAN, TDR, RFL as well as triple play tests such as VoIP, IPTV and data tests in the form of upload/download or iperf are possible via the interfaces. As a full-fledged fiber tester, it can be expanded in many ways, including with the ARGUS® GPON ONT, OTDR, Fiber Inspection Tool, ARGUS® Optical Power Meter and many more. Especially for tests in the Gigabit Ethernet range (up to 10 GigE), it has extremely powerful hardware. The ARGUS® 300 generates and loops traffic for tests and evaluations according to RFC 2544 or Y.1564.
