Lüdenscheid, February 2024 - intec GmbH, one of the leading providers of high-quality measurement and testing technologies for the telecommunications industry, will be presenting its latest developments in the field of fiber testers at Fiberdays 2024 in Wiesbaden, the leading trade fair for fiber optic expansion: the ARGUS® F300 and the ARGUS® F240. These devices are specially designed to meet the requirements of modern fiber optic networks and offer advanced solutions for installation and maintenance.
The ARGUS® F300 and ARGUS® F240 test reliably on GPON and XGS-PON interfaces in the top quality you have come to expect. The selective 5-fold powermeter can be switched into an existing PON connection in through mode. This allows you to simultaneously and precisely determine the optical levels on the different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON and XGS-PON as well as that of a possible video overlay (1550 nm) via five separate filters. Other transmitters that may be on the line (so-called alien ONT) can be detected. The PON ID can also be read out from the PLOAM message. Both devices can also carry out a complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests at up to 10 Gbit/s on GPON and XGS-PON.
The ARGUS® F300 and ARGUS® F240 also have many other test functions, such as WLAN analyzer, triple play tests such as VoIP, IPTV and data tests in the form of upload/downloads, ping and traceroute as well as iperf or high-performance IP speed tests directly on the fiber optic cable or Ethernet. The SFP slot can also be used for Active Ethernet (AON), as is often the case in FTTH installations. The Fiber Inspection Tool can also be connected via USB, which detects scratches and defects on optical fibers and displays them as a video image and in tabular form.
The OTDR in the ARGUS® F300 measures the line attenuation and event attenuation and can determine the line length, splices and connectors together with the propagation time of the reflected pulse.
