Broadband World Forum 2014: intec presents proven ARGUS technology with innovative enhancements

Luedenscheid, October 2014 – This year as well, intec will be presenting its leading-edge measuring technology "made in Germany" at the most important European telecommunication industry event, the Broadband World Forum (BBWF), taking place from 21 to 23 October in Amsterdam.

While intec's presence last year was dominated by even faster DSL interfaces (such as VDSL2 Vectoring and VDSL2 Bonding) and the cable multimeter expansion ARGUS Copper Box, this year the company will focus on innovative solutions for glass fiber and Ethernet accesses. These include for instance expansions with special SFPs with power meter function, active Ethernet and GPON interfaces. With over 25 years of development experience in telecommunications, intec is one of Europe's leading suppliers of combined xDSL, Ethernet and IP measuring technology that is designed specifically for wide-area use by large network operators in national and international telecommunication markets.

The meters stand out thanks to their high performance, flexibility, reliability and multi-functionality. For example, the ARGUS 162 and ARGUS 165 ADSL/VDSL testers are equipped with Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (Cu + SFP) and optionally support copper and triple play tests as well as ISDN (BRI S/T, BRI U, PRI/E1) and POTS. Where required, the ARGUS 165 can be upgraded to a high-performance SHDSL tester (SHDSL.bis 8-wire). It is ideal for commissioning VDSL2 Vectoring as well as for the widely used FTTH technology, and offers performance measurements for both according to RFC2544 as well as a wide range of additional useful functions including TDR, spectrum analysis, Active Probe, PESQ, VNC control and many more.

The ARGUS 162 can also be expanded to handle VDSL2 Bonding. Additionally, all of intec's ARGUS testers are suitable for field use thanks to their exceptionally long battery times (8 hours VDSL sync) and easily interchangeable batteries, extremely short boot times (9 sec.), a highly responsive keypad, the ability to conveniently save up to 100 customer-specific access configurations with test profiles, and a WiFi-enabled expansion module for communicating with electronic job-management systems. intec’s field-tested measurement equipment is complemented by a full range of accessories and competent support (www.argus.info/en).
