  • 2023: The ARGUS® Fiber Tester (ARGUS® F240)

The ARGUS® F240 has a selective 5-fold power meter for GPON and XGS-PON. It can be switched into an existing PON connection in through mode, allowing the optical levels on the different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON and a video overlay to be precisely determined simultaneously via five separate filters. Other transmitters on the line (Alien-ONT) can be detected and the PON ID can be read out from the PLOAM message.

  • 2022: First pure fiber tester (ARGUS® 240)

The ARGUS® 240 has an integrated broadband powermeter that allows the measurement of additional wavelengths. With the selective xPON-OPM, the levels of GPON and XGS-PON can be measured simultaneously. In addition, the PON ID can be read out and a complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests can be done.

  • 2021: All-in-one tester (ARGUS® 300)

The ARGUS® 300 combines the functions of various fiber measurement devices and xDSL combination testers. It tests the bandwidth of numerous interfaces such as GPON, Ethernet, WLAN, G.fast, xDSL, 10 GigE and many more and offers various fiber test options such as OTDR, PON installation, GPON TE mode (ONT), ARGUS® Optical Power Meter and Optical Fault Finder.

  • 2020: First broadband tester with touch display (ARGUS® 260)

The first ARGUS® measurement device with touch display combines intuitive operation with familiar ARGUS® menu structure and reliably tests all broadband interfaces, from ADSL and VDSL to super vectoring, bonding and G.fast (106 + 212 MHz). Thanks to its SFP slot, the ARGUS® 260 can be expanded with fiber-based Ethernet (PtP), PON installation and GPON TE mode (ONT), the high-precision ARGUS® Optical Power Meter and the Optical Fault Finder, among other features, and is thus ideally equipped for future requirements in fiber-optic networks as well.

  • 2018: 30th anniversary

On 29 September 2018 we celebrated our 30th anniversary with more than 60 employees.

  • 2018: Launch of super vectoring testers (ARGUS 153, 156, 163, 166)

On the way to becoming a “gigabit society“, the ARGUS testers 15x and 16x from 2013 were expanded by VDSL2 profile 35b (super vectoring, ITU-T G.993.2 Annex Q) and G.fast up to 106 MHz. The ARGUS testers 153, 156, 163 and 166 support this technology rolled out in Germany since 2018.

  • 2013: Launch of ARGUS Copper Box

Qualification of the copper twisted pair for DSL / subscriber line

  • 2013: First VDSL2 vectoring testers (ARGUS 151, 152, 155, 162, 165)

The next xDSL generation was developed (VDSL2 with vectoring, ITU-T G.993.5 / G.vector) and rolled out by the major network operators as part of the German government's broadband initiative. The ARGUS testers 151, 152, 155, 162 and 165 met the requirements for this new technology and have been used throughout Europe.

  • 2009: Launch of product generation ARGUS 141, 142, 145 plus

Launch of the first ARGUS product generation with VDSL2, a colour display for even more ease of use and a Li-Ion battery pack for a long service life.

  • 2008: Relocation of storage, logistics and process engineering

For continuing to meet the requirements of structured process engineering and fast delivery times, an adjacent building was converted into a logistics building for 12 employees.

  • 2006: ARGUS 145: first all-in-one tester with large display

ARGUS 145 was the first all-in-one tester with a large display. It was also capable of testing ADSL2/2+ and SHDSL (up to 4-wire) as well as ISDN BRI, BRI U and POTS (analog). ARGUS 145 was also the first ARGUS tester to offer triple play tests based on DSL (data, VoIP, IPTV).

  • 2006: Foundation of the subsidiary ARGUS Test Ibérica in Madrid, Spain

Test Ibérica was founded with the aim of targeting the main network operators in Spain. In 2001 its activities were expanded to Latin America. Today, ARGUS Test Ibérica is also responsible for the promotion and distribution of ARGUS products in other markets in Africa, Asia, Australia and the Pacific Area.

  • 2003: Development of the first combitester for SHDSL and PRI - ARGUS 28

ARGUS 28 was the first combitester for SHDSL and PRI. The special feature of SHDSL, which is often used by business customers, is its long range and the symmetrical distribution of down- and upstream.

  • 2001: First ADSL tester ARGUS 44

ARGUS 44 was the first combitester for the DSL standard ADSL1 as well as the already available ISDN and POTS.

  • 2001: Extension of the office building

The office building, which was occupied in 1998, was enlarged by an extension. This has created sufficient storage capacity and additional office workplaces.

  • 1999: Certified quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001

intec GmbH has a quality management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since August 1999

  • 1999: ARGUS 10

ARGUS 10 was the first tester for the ISDN BRI NT interface in a new large case with a full-size keyboard and rechargeable batteries, making a quantum leap in usability and service life in everyday work.

  • 1999: ARGUS 20 / 22

ARGUS 20 was the first simple ISDN PRI tester on the market; ARGUS 22 also had an ISDN BRI extension.

  • 1998: Move to Rahmedestr. 90 and enlargement

In 1998, the 22 employees moved into a new building with more office and storage space in order to accommodate the continuous growth of the company.

  • 1998: ARGUS 2 / 2u

ARGUS 2 was the first ARGUS tester that could be operated on ISDN BRI U and analog lines (POTS) in addition to ISDN BRI TE. ARGUS 2 was therefore suitable for tests on all common telecommunications systems and house connections.

  • 1997: Establishment of an own sales team

In 1997, intec began to build up its own sales team.

  • 1997: First ARGUS tester

intec‘s first ARGUS tester was equipped with an ISDN BRI TE interface and a handset. The handy, robust device is still used by some technicians today.

  • 1988: Foundation

On 29 September 1988 intec Gesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH was founded in Lüdenscheid, Germany. At the beginning, our main focus was on order development. In addition, we also developed our own products such as telecommunications systems, ISDN PC cards or the ISDN service card.
